2 & 3 Horse Slant Stock Combos
The trailer pictured
above is a Shadow Stable Mate 613STK-2SL two horse stock combo. That
designation indicates 6' body width, 13' body length,
STocK air gap, 2H SLant load. Shadow also offers a 3
horse version, the 616STK-3SL. The 613STK & 616STK stock combos have
livestock air gaps on both sides and the rear gate. Shadow offers
other versions of the Stable Mate slants with windows on one wall (SC
series) or both walls (S Series). The STK series stock combos are
extremely popular because they offer great value in an aluminum trailer,
and with the livestock air gaps on both sides, they’re bright and have
great ventilation.
Step
inside a Shadow, whether Stable Mate or the more deluxe 700 Series, and
you’ll likely note it’s an inviting place to be. The workmanship is
very good and there’s an overall tidiness that’s very appealing.
Shadow has employed clever engineering in the 613 and other Stable Mate
models to keep both the weight and price down while keeping the quality
high. Stable Mate slant load models are 7’ tall, and all Stable Mate
models feature a 6’ body width. The 6’ body width provides good room
for a wide range of horses, yet reduces the weight, cost and frontal area
of the trailer when compared to an extra wide model. (Reduced
frontal area means less drag and less power required to pull it.)
The 613 has an empty weight of about 2320 lbs., so you don’t need a large
vehicle to tow it safely.

They’re Rumber®
kick panels and they’re standard in Stable Mate models. A Rumber
product specialist once told us that the product was developed to line
trenches for hand grenade training. If Rumber can hold up to
grenades, it should be able to stand up to a kick! Not only is Rumber
tough, it only weighs about 20 lbs. per 4x8 sheet; it protects your
horses, protects your walls and helps save fuel! One of the things
we like about Shadow is their willingness to use modern materials &
methods to produce a better trailer. Look around the 613STK’s
structure and you’ll see strong but light aluminum tubing and substantial
gussets reinforcing high stress areas.
For
safe, convenient loading, the Stable Mate 613STK stall divider has a
fast-action, easy-to-use latch. Stall offset is 40" and Shadow
angles Stable Mate dividers to produce stall lengths very close to what
you'd find in a 7' wide trailer (as we mentioned earlier, all Stable Mate
models are 6' wide). The Stable Mate STK series stock combos have
livestock air gaps on the side walls and rear gate, and there are
integrated tracks so you can add optional Plexiglas inserts if desired.
Stable Mate stock combos have nicely equipped dressing rooms and the
dressing room wall is on hinges so you can swing it out of the way to haul
a load of hay or a small tractor!
As
on Shadow’s more expensive models, each Stable Mate features an aluminum
frame and aluminum skin, torsion axles with brakes on all wheels,
bright LED tail & marker lights, running boards (don’t take running boards
for granted!) and much more. They’re available in White or Silver
finish.
Stable Mates are available in 1, 2 & 3 horse slant load bumper pulls, 2 &
3H slant goosenecks, 2H straight load bumper pulls & goosenecks and
livestock bumper pull models.
This
