The trailer pictured above is a Shadow Stablemate 6135SC two horse stock combo.  The 6135SC designation indicates 6' wide, 13.5' long, Stock Combo.  There's a 3 horse 617 SC a little farther down the page (6' body width, 17' body length) and a 6135 Stock model in the clearance section below.  Standard height on all Stablemates shown here is 7 feet.  Stablemates are well made and nicely equipped, but they're not quite as deluxe as Shadow's 700 Series models and less deluxe means lower cost.  Like all Shadows, a Stablemate features an aluminum frame, aluminum skin, rubber torsion axles, radial tires and bright LED tail and marker lights.  The Stablemates shown here feature treated wood floors, but since these pictures were taken, Shadow has made aluminum floors standard on the Stablemates for consistency throughout the Shadow product line.   Wood may not be as high-tech as aluminum, but it's well-proven in horse trailers.

Stablemates are not insulated like the other Shadow models, but most Stablemates are stocks or stock combos with so much ventilation that the insulation may not be missed.  The horse area is lined with Rumber kick panels.  (A Rumber rep once told us that the product was developed to line trenches for hand grenade training.  If Rumber can hold up to grenades, it should be able to stand up to a kick!).  Stablemate stock combos feature padded stall dividers with easy-to-use latches and drop down feed doors along the head wall.  Stablemate stock combos have nicely equipped dressing rooms and the dressing room wall is on hinges so you can swing it out of the way to haul a load of hay or a small tractor.  In the slant models, stall offset is 42" and Shadow has angled the dividers to produce a stall length that's very close to what you'd find in a 7' wide trailer (all Stablemate models are 6' wide).  Stablemates are available in 1, 2 and 3 horse stock combos as well as 13.5' and 16'  livestock bumper pulls.  The 6135SC shown above has the optional spare tire, escape door and stripe package.  Good looking, versatile and affordable.  Check out the Stablemates at Traveled Lane!
