Here's a Shadow 720 three horse slant gooseneck with the
optional 5.5' extended dressing room & stainless steel front
trim. There's so much to talk about, it's hard to decide
where to begin, but here goes...
This trailer is 6'9" wide and 7' tall and with the optional
extended dressing room, it's 20' on the floor (17' is
standard). The structure has aluminum aplenty -
aluminum tube frame, aluminum skin and extruded aluminum
plank floors (with integrated cross members every 6 inches).
One piece aluminum roof. Wide running boards.
Torsion axles, electric brakes and radial tires.
Standard LED tail and marker lights. Locking hasps on
rear and escape doors. (And note that the full height cam bar
on the escape door latches at the top and bottom - some
manufacturers use a latch that secures only at the bottom).
That’s enough for the technical details. Now for the
comfort and convenience features… Standard lined and
insulated ceiling. Lined & insulated walls in the horse
area. 2-way vent over each stall. Padded stall
dividers with quiet, fast-action latches (and dividers are
spring loaded to swing out of the way). Telescoping
divider on the last stall (along with an easy-to-use butt
bar). Escape door on the first stall with drop down feed
window. Collapsible rear tack that folds neatly out of the
way. Saddle racks that can be used in the rear tack or
dressing room. Large drop down feed window at each stall
with independently hinged guard (you can lower the window &
leave the guard up). Large sliding windows along the
butt wall. Rubber floor mats. Wall mats in the horse
area.
The trailer pictured here has the 5.5’ Plus Pack, the main
feature of which is the extended dressing room with 5.5' short
wall and 9.5' long wall (3' longer than the standard dressing
room). This provides plenty of room for tack, getting
out of the weather or overnighting. The extended
dressing room even has a third large window as standard (and
it’s placed to give the sensation of looking through a picture
window). The dressing room shown here is large enough
that it can accommodate a compact weekender living quarters
package (not shown). The 5.5’ Plus Pack also includes a
pass door from the horse area to dressing room. The pass
door is a very popular feature.
With the white walls and ceiling, the interior of this trailer
is much brighter than our less-than-expert photography shows.
Standard stall width is 42 inches, which is wider than the
stalls on many trailers. The pictured trailer is also
equipped with an optional 30 gallon water tank tucked up under
the gooseneck. We invite you to visit Traveled Lane and
check out the Shadows for yourself!
Please note: These pictures are showing an early model
Shadow slant with modular drop down feed window assemblies.
Later models have windows in framed feed doors.
