Here’s Shadow’s big two horse gooseneck. The official
designation is 7155S-2STRW-GN, which stands for 7' body
width (6'9" actually), 15.5' body length, 2 horse
STRaight load, Warmblood, GooseNeck. We
just call it the 7155 gooseneck. Standard height is 7'6", the
horse area is approximately 11' long and the dressing room is
nearly 4.5'. There's plenty of room for good-sized horses
and tack. The 7155 GN features a robust aluminum tube
frame (not 3-sided hat post), aluminum skin, extruded aluminum
plank floors with integrated cross members every 6", rubber
torsion axles and radial tires. We sometimes order it with
5200 lb. axles and 16” wheels, and that’s how it’s shown in
these pictures.
The entire ceiling is lined & insulated and the walls of the
horse area are lined & insulated as well - all standard.
Removable head divider, vents over the stalls and plenty of
windows are standard. The escape doors are some of the
widest we've ever seen and they even have huge drop down windows
for additional ventilation. We've included a picture of
the trailer with both escape doors open so you can see how much
maneuvering room and air flow are available when the 7155's
doors are open. Another practical feature that's standard on
this and most Shadows is wide running boards. If you've ever
had a trailer with narrow running boards (or none at all), you
can appreciate the convenience and better footing offered
by properly sized running boards.
As you can see in the accompanying photos, the 7155 horse area
is nicely matted and has inviting white walls and ceiling.
The Shadow ramp is very easy to lift, thanks to a very effective
spring assist, and the woven mat ramp covering is very grippy.
(Standard ramp height is 4 feet, but Shadow will make the ramp
4.5 feet tall at no extra cost. The pictured trailer has
the 4.5' ramp.) Bright, reliable LED tail and marker lights are
standard, as is a loading light. Shadows are so well
equipped that we added very few options to the trailer pictured
here. In addition to the axle & wheel upgrade mentioned
earlier, this one has an optional spare tire, trim stripes and
windows in the storm curtain doors above the ramp. There's
plenty of ventilation in standard configuration, but we ordered
the 19" x 53" window in the dressing room rear wall for even
more air flow to the horses. The pictured trailer also has
the optional 30 gallon water tank tucked up under the gooseneck
(but the faucet is down low for convenient filling of buckets).
The water tank has been such a popular feature that we order it
on many of our goosenecks.
We receive a lot of positive feedback on the fit, finish and
overall appearance of our Shadow trailers. Like many of the
manufacturers we select, Shadow puts their money into the
product rather than spending a fortune on marketing, so you get
a very well made, well-equipped trailer at a very reasonable
price. We invite you to stop by Traveled Lane and
see some Shadows for yourself!
Please note: This description was prepared when the 7155
was the standard model (with 15.5’ floor length). More
recently, the size of the dressing room was reduced, the floor
length was shortened to 14.5’ and the model was redesignated the
7145. We prefer the 1’ longer dressing room of the 7155
and typically order this model in the 7155 configuration.
