Here’s Kingston’s other Extra Wide model,
the Bedford with Dressing Room. Like its non-dressing room
Bedford counterpart, it has an 80 inch body width, 6 inches
wider than Kingston’s other bumper pulls. While Kingston’s
standard width models are roomy and accommodate large horses
comfortably, the Bedford models are popular with folks who own
wider-bodied drafts and draft crosses. The Bedford horse
area has Kingston’s warmblood floor plan, which means it has an
extra 6 inches in the stall and an extra 6 inches in the head
area for a space that’s nearly 11 feet in length. Interior
height is generous at 7’5”.
Kingstons are built to last and well
equipped. The Bedford with dressing room is no exception.
Everything you see in the pictures is standard. 7 windows in
the horse are standard (2 in the escape doors, 2 at the stall
sides, 2 in the rear curtain doors and a large 19x53 in the wall
between the horse area and dressing room) – plenty of light &
ventilation and an inviting environment for your horse. As
with the other Kingstons, the Bedford with dressing room has a
thick, smooth aluminum skin with baked-on finish and a robust
frame with carefully-applied finishes for durability and
long-lasting great appearance.
Two escape doors are standard. Also
standard is a rear ramp with Kingston’s adjustable easy lift
spring assist. Not only does Kingston’s easy lift design
provide a very effective assist, if you want a little more or
less assist, you can adjust it in just a few minutes. If
you’re considering other brands, we suggest you see how much
effort it takes to lift the ramp. Kingston understands
that an easy-to-lift ramp is not only convenient, it’s a safety
feature. Standard loading lights aid loading after dark.
Some other Bedford horse area standards are
a padded full stall divider, floor mats, galvanized kick panels
and wall pads.
The Bedford dressing room is approximately
4.5 feet long including the wide V-nose. Standard dressing
room features include a lockable door with window, two folding
saddle racks, several bridle hooks and a high mounted blanket
bar/clothes rod. There are also two large windows in the nose
as well as the previously mentioned window connecting the
dressing room and horse area. We don’t stock the
Bedford as often as the other models, so we’re using Kingston’s
pictures with this writeup. If you’d like to see more
details, the Bedford looks very much like the Windsor with
dressing room. We’ve included our normal full set of
pictures in the Windsor writeup.
The Bedford with dressing room comes with
smooth-riding torsion axles, radial tires and LED tail lights.
Aluminum stone guards on the nose and fenders are standard.
The spare tire with Kingston-logo cover is standard on the
dressing room model.
We keep a nice selection of Kingstons in
stock. We invite you to stop by to check them
out.
