How would you like a 1-horse trailer that
has a dressing room, can accommodate a Warmblood sized horse and
can be towed easily and safely by many of today’s smaller
vehicles? Well, here it is. Or more precisely, here
THEY are. Brenderup offers three Baron One models – the
TC, SL and HB. The Baron One models can
accommodate a horse up to 18 hands, weighing up to 2300 lbs.
Considering that many horses weigh 1200 lbs. or less,
that’s a generous payload!
We’re showing the Baron One TC and SL
dressing room models in these pictures. The Baron One
TC has Brenderup’s Patented InstaTack dressing room.
When you get to your destination, simply flip up the lid of the
InstaTack and it becomes a full height dressing room.
The Baron One SL has an expandable version of the InstaTack.
With your horse off the trailer, just release a few latches,
give the SL dressing room wall a gentle push and it glides back
to a point just forward of the chest bar. It expands the
dressing room to approximately 6 feet (see photo). Saddle
racks, bridle hooks, blanket bar and a seat are standard in the
Baron One dressing room. The Baron One HB doesn’t have a
dressing room wall, but it does have the hardware to accommodate
your tack. The Baron One TC & SL have a groom door on each
side as well as a door to access the InstaTack. The
Baron One HB has a single large side door for access to horse
and tack.
In the old days, most single horse trailers
were narrow. That’s not the case with the Baron One
models. The body width is 51 inches, just 14 inches
narrower than Brenderup’s 2-horse models. With the
bright white interior and that 51 inch body width, the Baron One
is roomy and inviting.
As on the 2-horse Baron L models, the Baron
Ones have 65 inches of stretch-out space forward of the chest
bar to go along with the generous 7’4” interior height.
Baron One models weigh about 1700 lbs. and
carry only about 5% of their weight on the tongue. With a
typical 1000-1200 lb. horse on board, a Baron One will carry
approximately 150 lbs. on the hitch. A typical 2-horse
trailer carries about 450-500 lbs. on the hitch, so reduced
tongue weight is one reason why a Baron One can be pulled safely
by many of today’s smaller vehicles. The low-drag aerodynamic
shape and stability-enhancing chassis design also contribute to
the easy-pulling nature of the Baron One.
Baron One models feature Brenderup’s
well-proven Inertia brakes on all wheels. Inertia brakes
apply braking force automatically in proportion to the weight in
the trailer. There’s no need to adjust a brake controller
for changing loads. In fact, with Inertia brakes, you
don’t even need a brake controller!
But wait, there’s more… Baron One models
have the same high level of standard equipment as found on
Brenderup’s 2-horse models – smooth-riding torsion axles, radial
tires, shock absorbers (you won’t find those on most trailers!),
adjustable height chest and butt bars and 5-way opening windows.
And then there are the tough Solid Phenolic Core (SPC) walls, a
durable low-maintenance galvanized frame, a 5’ rear ramp with
lift assist and convenient toeholds, bright, reliable LED tail
and marker lights and much more.
